MANILA - The Philippine National Police's anti-drug drive has not resulted in deaths, one month since it was revived, a spokesperson said Friday.

The house-to-house drive called Oplan Tokhang also prompted the surrender of 3,173 people, said Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, chief of the PNP public information office.

"Up to now, Tokhang still has no recorded deaths. This is our soft effort against the use of illegal drugs," Bulalacao told reporters. "We assure that Tokhang activities will be less bloody."

The most number of people surrendered to Oplan Tokhang operations in Northern Mindanao with 405, followed by Metro Manila with 240.

Opinion:

Police officers now are doing their work according to what is the main purpose of this "Oplan Tokhang".

Nowadays there are no extrajudicial killings. This the right way to solve the problems against illegal drugs.

Everyone can change. We must support all programs of our government regarding on illegal drugs.
